MURCHISON Join us for the Doris Day Horse Rescue and Adoption Center's monthly 'Adoption Day' in Murchison, held the third Saturday of every month, rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come meet our rescue horses and learn the adoption process! We are located at 12250 County Road 3806, Murchison, 75778. There will be fun filled events. All activities are free, and since we are a nonprofit, donations are always appreciated. Donations are tax deductible! Children of all ages are welcome, but please let your pets stay at home. You’re welcome to bring the horses a gift. Suggestions include horse toys, saddle & tack cleaning supplies, medical supplies, muck rakes & buckets, halters and lead ropes, tack and training equipment, hoof picks, grooming supplies, carrots and horse treats, wheelbarrows, saddle racks, and Walmart gift cards. Matisee March Madness A silent auction featuring the work of local artists and famous "Blue Dog" artist, George Rodrigue, will benefit Tyler Aids Services. The event will be held at Mercedes- Benz of Tyler, 3274 Professional Drive, across from Home Depot. Tyler AIDS Services provided more than $75,000 in food assistance to clients last year. Staff fielded over 1,200 phone calls about HIV/AIDS and STDs, and reached 3,000 students and adults with educational activities. Help with emergency prescriptions, utilities, and housing were also provided.
