Geocaching is a type of treasure hunt using a GPS unit to help find hidden “caches” placed by people all over the world. Geocaches are everywhere from just down the street to the most remote wilderness areas. This program will teach the basics of using a GPS for geocaching and how to get started. The program will begin with a brief presentation and then the search will begin. A limited number of GPS units are available for visitors to borrow, visitors may also use their smart phones to geocache. Meet at 11 a.m. at The Pavilion. Mission Tejas State Park is located on Hwy 21 between Alto and Crockett.
The program is free, there is a $2 park entry fee for all 13 yrs and older.
